3D Scanning

Cutting-Edge Technology

At North Dakota Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center, our office utilizes highly advanced scanning and imaging technology. By implementing this cutting-edge technology, we are able to create detailed images of your face, neck, and mouth, and use this information to create accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. These scans are extremely useful in identifying the location of impacted teeth or developing wisdom teeth and plan for the placement of dental implants, replacement teeth, and much more.

Intraoral Digital Scanner

We use a handheld intraoral digital scanner, which serves as a convenient imaging option for our team and patients. This device is very easy to use and does not require any messy or gooey impressions. Our staff simply holds the scanner inside your mouth, and a 3D image of your mouth is created using the device’s computer program. This can be used for a large number of oral surgery procedures, including dental implant placement, full-arch replacement, bite or jaw misalignments, and many other procedures.

Benefits of using an intraoral scanner include

  • Fast results. A handheld digital scan can be completed in a few minutes.
  • Convenient scanning. Traditional impressions require dentists to pour stone models and deliver them to dental labs. Intraoral scanners allow the information to be instantly available to speed along your treatment.
  • Accurate imaging. Intraoral scanners are able to view your teeth from all angles and create a detailed map of your teeth that your doctor can use to formulate the right treatment plan for you.

No Impressions? No Problem!

A great benefit to using impressionless scanning technology is that there’s no mess! Patients often find that the molds used to create impressions of their teeth are messy, uncomfortable, and leave a bad taste in their mouths. Our office is equipped with imaging technology that doesn’t require the mess, and delivers remarkably detailed results!
